Admissions Procedure

Registration for the 2018 school year will open on July 15th

We are delighted to have you consider joining us here at the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine!

It is important to understand that during the growing season we are in full swing with teaching, harvesting, and making medicine. For the programs that require an interview, we will hold interviews on Thursday and Friday, with two time slots available each day. It is entirely possible that your interview will not be scheduled as soon as you apply and we appreciate your understanding.

Early Bird: $1,400 when paid in full by January 1, 2018
Full tuition due: March 1, 2018
Deposit: $300

Tuition & Payment

Payment plans are available for an additional fee of $200 and must be arranged at least one month prior to the start of class.
Application fee and deposit are still required to secure your placement in the program.

Additional Expenses:
Besides tuition, you will want to put some money aside for additional expenses such as books, tincturing alcohol, fresh herbs, and tools, for which you will receive a list of suggestions. These are not required for class, but simply things you will find useful.

Below is an approximate suggestion of addional funds to set aside for each program:
Holistic: $300-$500 (tools, books, tincturing supplies, field trip expenses)
Essentials: $100
Clinical: $300


Applicants will be notified of acceptance or wait list status by March 1, 2018, and likely sooner, based on space available. Additional seats will be offered to wait list applicants should space become available prior to the first day of class. If you are wait listed, please reserve your deposit/tuition until the first day of class in case a space becomes available. We will offer any last minute availabilities to those students prepared to submit deposit/tuition upon notification.

Refund Policy

Students who withdraw or are dismissed in the first 25% of course hours will be
issued a 50% refund, and students who withdraw or are dismissed after that time 
will not receive a refund. Students on payment plans are still responsible for tuition 
according to this policy, no matter how many payments have been received at that 

Course Changes & Cancellations

In the unlikely event of complete cancellation of a program, all tuition will be refunded 
including deposit.


BRSHM does not provide housing for our students. The Asheville area offers many rental opportunities for those relocating here.  We do recommend strongly that students live within reasonable commuting distance so that they can participate not only in scheduled class time, but also in clinical observation and practice opportunities occurring in the Advanced Clinical Program.


The Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine is located on the bus line with drop off occuring 3 times per day.  More information here at ART.


The offices and classroom for BRSHM are located at 606 New Leicester Highway Suite F Asheville, NC 28806.  Additionally, many classes are held in the forests and gardens of WNC. If accessibility is a concern, please contact us so we can discuss possible accommodations.
