Herbal Medicine for Internal and External Infections

Infection-The invasion and multiplication of microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, and other parasites) within and outside the body.
 
This class will focus on practical herbal strategies and treatments for internal and external infections. These include; respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary tract and skin infections
 
Participants will learn which herbal medicines to have on hand, plants that can be gathered and prepared, useful preparations, and learning to differentiate which plants to use for different types of infections. 
Some of the plants covered include; Yarrow, Echinacea, Baptisia, Oregon Graperoot, Myrrh, and others. This class is open to all levels of students.

Clinical Skills for the Practicing Herbalist
This class is about honing clinical skills for herbalists.  It is for anyone interested in herbal medicine, not only those in practice. We will cover many of the considerations specific to herbalism.

Discussion will focus on practical clinical skills including intake, setting up treatment protocols, diagnostic and counseling skills, patient compliance, formulation and specific herbal remedies. We will cover case studies to help make this information applicable and practical. 

Saturday and Sunday // 10am - 5pm // $80 for the entire weekend
About the teacher: 7Song is a clinical herbalist, teacher, botanist and naturalist. He is the director and main instructor of the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine. He is a founder, a practicing herbalist and the Director of Holistic Medicine at the Ithaca Free Clinic, an integrative clinic providing free consultations and herbal medicine for the larger community. 7Song has been active in herbal first aid for many years working at clinics, first aid stations and as a street medic in many situations.
 
One of his teaching goals is demonstrating how herbal medicine can offer primary and adjunct treatments for acute and chronic health conditions. He practices an integrative approach working alongside conventional and holistic practitioners. He aspires to make herbal medicine accessible, affordable and within reach of everyone.

Cancellations before one week of the start of class will be offered a class credit - you'll be able to apply the class fee you've paid to another class.
If you cancel within one week of the start of class, BRSHM will be unable to offer refunds or class credits.
