Learn to Craft Your Own Hydrosols

Immerse yourself in the world of aromatic distillation in an interactive and engaging outdoor workshop!

Join Rebecca as we explore the ancient techniques of distilling aromatic plants and resins using a traditional copper alembic still.

Together we will distill Frankincense resin and learn the process of distillation and how to create aromatic hydrosols from fresh plants and resins, ensuring a rich learning experience in an outdoor setting.

Hydrosols are a subtle yet ethereal form of the aromatic properties of plants and their cellular waters and contain the energy of the soil, air, water, plants, and essentially everything about the season in which it was created – similar to the concept of the terroir of fine wine. Hydrosols are a sustainable way to work with the aromatic properties of plants. In this introductory workshop, we will touch on the various types of stills and why you might choose one over another, the history of distillation and its current revival, as well as plants easily grown in our region that you may want to grow for future distillation. At the end of the workshop, participants will take home a 2 ounce bottle of hydrosol we’ve distilled together

Connect with your inner alchemist and learn to transform botanical treasures into ancient remedies for remembrance.
